The table is the place in the room where we eat, work and spend the most time, the place we see and touch every day .
A table has three elements: the table top, the anti-warping board, and the legs.
You don't need to decide all of these things before you order.
Please tell us the image you want to prioritize, such as "I want a round table with a bright color scheme." We will listen to your ideas and make suggestions for other parts, such as "I think these legs would be good to make the most of that."

The impression of a table changes depending on its subtle balance.
Any combination can be made to order, but in order to ensure overall harmony, we ask you about your "priority wishes" and then propose a design that will create that harmony.
We will listen to your requests and hold discussions based on our past delivery experience, such as "this design would be better balanced if the boards were not thick," or "this leg shape suits this design," and ultimately create a table that takes advantage of your wishes and the grain and characteristics of the individual pieces of wood.

Custom table top shapes: rectangular and square
The shape of the tabletop is

・The good thing about rectangular and square tables is that when you put chairs in them, the room looks "clean," "tidy," and "ordered." For example, "tall chairs are placed against the wall, Even if you arrange different chairs, such as low chairs next to the sofa, you can still create a neat and tidy impression.

About custom table top shapes "round table" and "oval table"
- The appeal of round tables and oval tables is that the power of their shape gives off an impression of peace, cheerfulness, and generosity.
Some people want a round table for various reasons, such as wanting to change the everyday scenery they see every day, fascinated by round shapes, or having always used a chabudai table at their parents' house and being familiar with round shapes.
Round tables can seat a surprisingly large number of people. Also, while you can't adjust the distance between you and the person next to you at a square table, you can adjust the distance between you and the person next to you by pulling your chair back and away from the table.
When it comes to arranging paperwork, a square table has more advantages than a circle, and an oval table is the best of both worlds.

・The Mokko-shaped type is often used for low tables or low tables in front of sofas in reception rooms. The plump shape creates a frame effect that makes the charm of the wood look even more beautiful.

耳付きは、「耳付きがいい」というご要望から天板を探す場合と、気に入った天板に耳が付いていて、耳を残すか残さないかデザインで相談して決める場合とがあります。
・一枚板で耳付きの場合と、
・ブックマッチの耳付き（本を開いたようなかたちになるため、2枚はぎで木表、木裏が左右に見えているつなぎかたをブックマッチといいます）
・3枚はぎ、4枚、5枚などで、耳付き（一枚の幅は200㎜より狭くはならないようにしています）
の場合があります。
共木（ともぎ）といって同じ丸太の材や、共木でなくても近しい色質の材をうまく組み合わせることで、一枚板よりも木目を楽しめる天板になることもよくあります。
耳付き材は50mmほどの厚板のばあいが多いですが、
27㎜で耳付きで制作したこともあります。
耳付きは、伐採時から運搬時、乾燥時も、木の皮部分がつぶれないよう美しく保ったまま長時間保管するという手間がかかります。その分、耳付きにしかない「樹」の時代の風格を感じさせる魅力があります。うねうねが好みの方、すっきりまっすぐが好みの方。人と木の巡りあわせの縁もあります。
今までの事例では、
①ショールームに展示していた、美しいので購入しておいた展示の板を気に入ってくださる場合
②お好みの天板を伺って、いくつかの材木屋さんに聞いて写真を送ってもらい、お選びいただく場合
③ご依頼主が材木屋さんに見に行って選ばれる場合などがありました。
反対に、「耳付きがいいと思っていたけれど、朝倉木工のテーブルなら耳なしもかえって良く見えてきました」と言ってくださる方も。木目合わせ、色合わせには、細心の注意を払って行っています。

We have also been asked to create a table with a high-quality Zelkova top, in response to a request that although there were some flaws they would not be noticeable if they were replaced with stylish inlay.

The most common coating used on tables made by Kyoto Tanzan Asakura Woodworks is,
●Oil finish
The wood surface is hand-planed, so it is less likely to get ring stains even with an oil finish. We have a dining table in our shop that has been in hard use for over 10 years.
The biggest advantage of an oil finish is that you can do the maintenance yourself.
For those who hate getting dirty
●Glass painting
The advantage is that it extends the time before maintenance is required.

We will suggest a direction that will suit your tabletop and your preferences, while also asking about your preferences for the legs.
"With that size, a type with legs in the center would suit, but if you prefer four legs, this design where the legs are flared at the ends is also possible to balance it out."
Also, if you would like the tabletop and legs to be connected using only suction crosspieces, please let us know your preference from the start, as this will change the overall design and the thickness of the lumber you are looking for.
