Autumn 2014: Delivered Ocean Chair WAL

"The museum was established in 1984 with the goal of collecting and preserving disappearing carpentry tools as a national heritage, and passing them on to future generations through research and exhibitions. It regularly holds events such as various special exhibitions, lectures, seminars, visiting classes, and woodworking workshops that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike, on the skills, wisdom, and spirit of the people who use these tools, the architecture that is born from them, and the wood culture that surrounds it."

When we moved in the fall of 2014, we decided to put a few chairs made by woodworkers from the Kansai region on permanent display in the entrance hall. Oz was one of them. During events, it was placed in the rest area, and some people who saw it here and liked it so much that they visited Sumiyama and took the Oz home with them.
